Letting go
Is not her natural response
Holding tight
As the last strings slip
Through gripped yet tired fingers
Almost willing yet still holding
She’s exhausted
Awaken. Heal. Inspire.
Letting go
Is not her natural response
Holding tight
As the last strings slip
Through gripped yet tired fingers
Almost willing yet still holding
She’s exhausted
For all who feel the sorrow
For all who carry the gravity
Of a situation they can’t control
For all who feel useless inside
For all who feel scared outside
Yet go on anyway
For all who feel joy in the quiet moments
Despite the burning around them
For all who don’t see a way forward
I envision for us the blocks being carried away
I envision for us the streams running free
Carrying away our collective tears
I envision for us the waves of grief washing over
Leaving us battered and spurting and healed
I envision us holding each other’s hands
In sweet surrender

Not by open hands or silent longing
Not by letting go or loving less
But by looking in the deep eyes of love
And opening to fall into their well of trust
Does one relinquish control
On wings of glory
I rise,
Into the limitless depths
Of my unseen soul
Higher and higher,
Deeper and deeper,
Until I lose all desire
To struggle,
Until I let go of the will
To control,
Until I let go
Let go and float

As the earth spins,
We spin,
Right out into space, it seems,
Where no mind can make sense
Of the unwillingness
To make peace,
To seek love
And so we spin
Out of control,
On our axis of greed
And isolationism
Yet inside us, something grows
A longing,
Unexplained yet palpable
Like breathing
Like spinning
A new hope
A new spin
On an old story
Embedded in our hearts
A new world, spinning into being
On the axis of love

The Angels remind us that control is the opposite of passion. If we want to move forward, to fully experience our passion, our life force, we must be willing to let go.
