Why don’t we start the day
With a blank page,
A clean slate
Why don’t we imagine if all the follies of yesterday
Were simply in the past
No longer haunting,
No more need to carry
The burden of their weight,
Simply a fresh start unfolding
Why don’t we dive into new adventures,
New love, new pain,
The heart of what makes us human,
The substance which makes us gods among lesser men
Who can’t let go,
Who don’t see the light of a new day
And whisper through sacred lips,
Welcome home
